Chishi is simply a circular stone weight on the end of a short pole, essentially a weighted lever. The simpleness is quickly forgotten as the effectiveness of this implement is immediately felt by the practitioner when executing basic exercises.
Chishi are easily constructed from materials at the local hardware store. What is important to remember however is that the length of the handle (lever) dramatically affects the force required to move it. A modern example of this training tool in action is the sledgehammer used by MMA and Judo practitioners.
Coming soon a set of exercises using chishi.
